Shirley Ziegler, 81, of Arvada, CO passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016.
Shirley is survived by her children Rhoda, Rick, and Renee; daughter-in-law Lil, and niece Crystal. She is preceded in death by husband Ben; children Charles, Roger, and Jack; siblings James, Robert, and Norma.
Shirley was born on March 24, 1934 in Denver, CO to James H. And Lillie G. Callaway. After she graduated from Manual High School she worked at the Public Service Company. She soon went to work at Benson Optical in 1953 where she met her first husband Jim and became mother to his boys Chuck, Roger, and Jack. Jim and Shirley owned Aurora Optical. After Jim died, she met the love of her life, Ben Ziegler who was general manager of Day Chevrolet right down the street from Aurora Optical. They married soon after. Shirley welcomed his children Rhoda, Rick, and Renee into her heart and life. She spent the next years working and raising her children.
Her family expanded to her niece Crystal Chapman, Grandchildren Adriel, Charles, Craig, Dan, Gabriel, Hannah, Justin, Mercie, Nate, Zachary, and Weston; Great-Grandchildren Alexa, Amaris, Matt, and Riley; and Great-Great-Grandchildren Jack and Oliver.
Her family and loved ones remember her for her sweet personality, inner strength, and unequivocal love.
