Rodney E. Miller

Rodney Ervin Miller, 55, passed away on May 13, 2016 at home in Parker, Colorado. He was born December 10, 1960 in Independence, Iowa to Glenn & Arlene Miller.

Rod grew up in Jesup, Iowa; he graduated from Jesup High School in 1979. After high school Rod worked in the John Deere foundry in Waterloo before moving to Colorado in 1984.

Rod married Julie Ann Miller on February 28, 1986 in Aurora, Colorado. They were happily married for 30 years.
Rod was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #9 for 25 years where he worked his way through the apprenticeship program to Foreman. After retiring from sheet metal he was employed by RTD as a light rail operator, a job he thoroughly enjoyed.
Rod & Julie had three daughters, Amy Ford of St. Louis, MO, Erin Wallace of Parker, CO, and Katherine Miller of Parker, CO, two granddaughters and two grandsons.

Rod is survived by his wife Julie, his daughters Amy, Erin and Katherine , his sister Glenda Eccles of Polk City, Iowa, his brothers Douglas (Janice) Miller of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Richard (Janell) Miller of Waverly, Iowa. His grandchildren Kara & Kaia Ford of Prairie City, Illinois and Domonic & Devin Ralphs of Davenport, Iowa; eight nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Rod was preceded in death by his parents Glenn & Arlene Miller and his nephew Brett Van Bogart.

Rod enjoyed hunting and camping and was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Denver Broncos. A funeral service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 190 N. Potomac, Aurora, Colorado on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. A celebration of Rod's life will be held at The Tailgate Tavern, 19552 Main St, Parker, Colorado 80138 following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Denver Hospice 501 S. Cherry Street, Denver, Colorado or Denver Broncos Charities, 13655 Broncos Pkwy, Englewood, CO 80112.
