Irene Michael , 103, of Centennial, passed away June 7, 2016.
She was born May 26, 1913 in Whiting, Kansas, the daughter of Emmett and Grace (Proctor) Smith. Here family lived in Sharon Springs, KS and then moved to Topeka, KS where she lived for the next 45 years. She married Lewis H. Tew on October 7, 1934 in Topeka, KS. They had two children from their union. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1956. She married Damon W. Michael on November 1, 1959 in Loveland, CO. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2013. She worked for many years as the secretary for Penwell Gabel Funeral Home in Topeka, KS.
She is survived by Son, Lewis Larry (Joan) Tew; Five Grandchildren, Brent (Shannon) Swanson, Christie Tew, Nicole (Bob) Long, Chad Tew, Todd (Victoria) Tew; Eight Great Grandchildren, Hailey Swanson, Kendall Swanson, Lauren Tew, Bearett Long, Camden Long, Ashlyn Long, Mitchell Tew, Joseph Tew, Isaiah Tew; and Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She is preceded in death by her Parents, First Husband, Lewis H. Tew; Second Husband, Damon W. Michael, Son, Kenneth Tew on August 24, 2011, Grandson, Brad Swanson, Brother, Rev. Kenneth Smith, Sister, Velma Wrenn.
