Anthony "Tony" Abeyta, 83, died early Thursday morning November 24.
Tony was born to the late Ernest and Vera on May 1, 1933 in Denver Colorado. Tony lived his
early life during a period of time when education was not as important as providing for your
family. Even though he had little in the form of formal education he learned all he needed from a
life of hard work.
Tony was a plumber until just a few short years ago. He retired from Denver Parks and
Recreation and then continued on as an entrepreneur and started a very successful business
for himself. His greatest accomplishment was not only all of the people he helped but also the
fact that he was held the #2 business license in the city of Denver.
Tony was an active man his entire life. He loved to go bowling and take trips up the hill with his
family and friends. His favorite casino was the Flamingo in Vegas where he could play the slot
machines for hours on end.
Tony had a very large family and is survived by his Children, Grandchildren, and
Great-Grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Friday, December 2. The Viewing will be
from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm for family only. Then friends are welcome from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
There will be a reception in Tony's honor on Saturday December 3 from 1-4 pm at the AEC Event Center Lakewood, 7110 W. Colfax Avenue.
