Howard Allen Kelley

Howard Allen "Doc" Kelley, 86, of Denver, passed away December 21, 2016.

He was born June 2, 1930 in Hartford, Connecticut, the son of Curtis and Alice (Kilbourne) Kelley.

He was a graduate of Bulkeley High School in Hartford, CT. He then attended Teacher's College in New Britain, CT.

He honorably served in the U.S Air Force during the Korean War.

On March 26, 1955, he married Joan Dawson.

Doc was a 50 -year member of the Masons and was involved with the George Washington Lodge 161. He was also a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks #1650 in Littleton where he was a Past Exalted Ruler in 1968 and 1969. He was also a member of the El Jebel Shrine which supports Shriners Hospital for Children. Member of the"Vintage Iron Patrol." He also volunteered for His Giving Hand Food Bank for 20 years and volunteered with Jewish Family Center.

He received everyone with open arms and led by example. His interests included boating, skiing and Ski Patrol, skating, traveling, photography, bowling, participating in parades, volunteering with the El Jebel Circus and antique cars.

Doc enjoyed sharing love and laughter with wife Joan; four children, Sherri (David) Kyle, Sandi Torres, Craig (Marla) Kelley and Verne Kelley;13 grandchildren and their spouses;17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter.

He is preceded in death by Father, Curtis Arthur Kelley, Mother, Alice Effie Kelley, and brother Curtis A. Kelley Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
