Phyllis Joy "Honey" Montoya, 74, of Strasburg, went home to be with Jesus on April 8, 2017.
She was born April 10, 1942 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Donald and Gwendolyn (Oglesby) Aiton. She attended South High School. On June 15, 1973 she married Jesus Montoya, of Strasburg, Colorado.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Jesus Montoya; five children, Terra (Kevin) Lewis, Doug (Lori) Fellows, Brenda (Dan Barron) Moore, Joseph (Jill) Haney, Michael (Jennifer) Montoya; fifteen grandchildren, Brentley (Melanie) Lewis, Joy Lewis, Amber Lewis, Joshua (Christina Edelen) Fellows, Brittany Fellows, Jeramie (Shahla) Anders, Jacob (Mattie Erickson) Haney, Chandelle (Alex) Dinger, Shannon (Chad) Valdez, Mark Montoya, Isaac Montoya, Rayahanna Montoya, Desiree Anders, Cassandra (David) Moore, and Megan Montoya; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret (Michael) Judd; and brother, Bruce (Myat-Htway) Aiton. She is preceded in death by son, Marcus Montoya; parents, Donald and Gwendolyn Aiton; five siblings, Donald Smith, Barbara Lucas, Wayne Smith, Noel Smith, and Steven Aiton.
