Ronald Alan Farrell, 77, of Aurora, Colorado passed away on September 14, 2021. He died peacefully at Porter Hospice, surrounded by his children and wife of 56 years.
Ron was born to the late Ronald and Mary (Rosevally) Farrell in Newark, New Jersey on October 14, 1943. Ron graduated from Governor Livingston Regional High School and Monmouth University. He married the love of his life, Patricia, in 1965 and raised his children in Berkeley Heights, NJ.
Ron was a dedicated family man first and foremost. When his father passed away at a young age, he played an integral role in the upbringing of his younger brothers without hesitation. He treasured his wife and children, embracing every moment with them, particularly vacations on Long Beach Island. Ron's favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, but he is best known for his 12-foot Christmas trees. A reserved man, you knew you had gained his trust when he would crack a joke (or a beer) with you. Ron was an incredibly hard worker, running his own tire and automotive repair business until his retirement in 2006 when he relocated to Colorado, as the thought of being a long-distance Papa was inconceivable.
As the nephew of a wrestling legend and an incredible athlete himself, Ron was happiest when he was coaching his sons in football, wrestling (his favorite) and baseball. Not only was his heart always on the field or on the mat, he made lifelong friendships during these years that he cherished to the end. When not coaching, Ron loved watching the Yankees, going to the racetrack, dancing the jitterbug with his wife, and sipping on Seagram's V.O.
Ron is survived by his wife Patricia; brothers Doug and Gary and their families; three children: Amy, Ronald and Michael; and two grandchildren, Frankie and Sophia.
