Abelino Huereña, 96, of Rowe New Mexico, died Wednesday July 8th, 2020 in his home in Aurora, Colorado. Abelino was born on February 8th, 1924 to his parents Epifanio and Adela Huereña. He grew up in the village of Pajarito, New Mexico with his parents, and brothers (Sam, Gus, and Ted Huereña) during the Great Depression. Fellow villagers depended on one another for survival by exchanging vegetables and livestock.
In his adult years, he married the love of his life, Ursulita Suazo. Their 65+ year marriage was an inspirational journey. Abe was also a father, grandfather, and uncle. Abe and Ursie raised two children, Debbie and Robert.
As a World War II veteran he saw the world traveling to Japan, Africa, Alaska, and various parts of the United States. He carried forward the life-long lessons he learned in the military of discipline, work-ethic, toughness, and consistency. He avidly exercised, sometimes twice daily until he was 96 years old.
Abe was known as a handsome, stylish, fashionable, well-groomed man who wore freshly pressed suits, polished shoes, gold trim sunglasses, and his famous Fedora hats. His Lincoln Continental among his other vehicles were always waxed and sparkling clean. He even ironed his money to ensure the bills were straight and crisp before inserting them into his billfold.
Abelino is survived by his daughter Debbie Lopez, son in law Dan Lopez of Denver, Colorado. Abelino is also survived by his four grandsons Lucian Duran (wife Candance), Daniel, Taylan, and Landon Lopez. As well as three great-grandchildren Elijah, Jacob, and Kyla Duran, in addition to multiple nieces and nephews. Abelino is preceded in death by his parents Epifanio and Adela Huereña, his wife Ursulita Huereña, his brothers Sam, Gus, and Ted Huereña, and his son Robert Huereña.

Guidelines for Mass Attendance
During Pandemic Event
The following information is for the day of the Funeral Mass:
1. All participants must wear face masks, unless they are two years of age or younger.
2. Hand sanitizers will be available at the entrances of the church and all entering the church need to use sanitizers.
3. Six feet apart in the pews, unless you are a family unit, then one family per pew can be seated together. This means, you are living in the same household.
4. Pews are blocked off, thus, it will be easy to determine where you can sit in the church space.
5. Family members may not congregate in the vestibule. Upon entering the church, we ask that they pick up a prayer card, liturgy outline and proceed into the body of the church.
6. Family members can lector, those who are prepared spiritually may receive the Eucharist, the blood of Christ is not being administered at this time.
7. Upon leaving the church we ask that you do not congregate in the vestibule, however, outside you may visit, with masks or use six feet apart social distancing practices.
