Adela R. Puente

Adela Rodriguez Puente, longtime resident of West Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital in Broomfield, CO. She was 77.

Family visitation is planned for January 26th from 4 to 5 pm and public visitation from 5 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home in Lakewood, CO, with the funeral set for Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 10 am at Newcomer Funeral Home.

Adela Rodriguez Puente was born November 11, 1932 in Nahuatzen, Mexico, the daughter of Leopoldo and Petra Rodriguez.

Adela and Jose resided in West Fargo, ND for greater than 35 years, then moving to Northglenn, CO for the last years of her life.

Adela married Jose Marez Puente on February 5, 1958.

Adela worked for many years in food service because of her love of cooking.

Her family remembers Adela as a loving mother, wife, and caring sister of many brothers and sisters. Her grand and great-grandchildren were the bright light in her life.

She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Northglenn, CO for many years.

Survivors are her loving husband of 50 years, Jose Marez Puente, of Northglenn, CO, son, David Lee Gonzales, of Thornton, CO, daughter-in-law, Rene Lujan Gonzales; daughters Patty Ballard of San Antonio, TX, son-in-law, Norman Ballard; Janie Mitchell of Brighton, CO, son-in-law Tony Mitchell; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brothers Leo Rodriguez and wife Lucille, Tony Rodriguez and wife Linda, Emanuel Rodriguez and wife Veronica, Greg Rodriguez and wife Mary, Fred Rodriguez and wife Barbara, Ralph Rodriguez and wife Norma; sisters Leona Strobel and husband Eugene and Lupe Simpson and husband Don. Two uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Leopoldo and Petra Rodriguez, son John Gonzales, and sister Martha Diego.
