Aili Maria Lundquist
Feb. 1, 1921 - July 19, 2010

Aili was born in the farmhouse of Herman and Selma Hannula in VanBuskirk about ten miles south of Lake Superior in northern Wisconsin close to the Wisconsin/Michigan state line. She was the third daughter born and was named after her mother's sister Aili Maria who had died at 17 years of age in 1918. Her Aunt Aili Maria, who she was named after, was the first child of her grandparents who was born in America, her five older siblings having all been born in northern Finland.

Aili had four brothers and two sisters. They lived right across the dirt road to the county schoolhouse and she was able to walk to school. She loved all of her grade schooling & finished one year of Business College. She moved to Chicago in 1940 to work for the Pet Milk Co.

She met her husband, Harold E. Lundquist, Jr. in the spring of 1942 & they were married on Dec. 19, 1942. Harold was drafted into the army, Jan. 1943 & was in WWII until Oct. 1945. They lived in Chicago until Jul. 1949 when they moved to Libertyville, Illinois. In Oct. 1953 they moved to West Covina, CA. They lived there until Jan. 1967 when they moved to their current home in Lakewood, CO.

Aili's love for our Lord Jesus Christ was her primary motivation in life. She had a great love for children, her own and her grandchildren and all children as she was a Sunday school teacher to young girls for many years, teaching them about Christ while being a great example to her students and all who knew her. She loved God's Word and was a great prayer warrior. She loved giving to many different ministries that get the Gospel out.

Aili loved all of her family very much, which includes her husband for 67 years, her sons, Jim, Sven, David and daughter, Janet. Aili has 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and many numerous friends.
