Albert Castaneda

December 10, 1932 — February 24, 2024

Albert Paul "Pablo" Castañeda, beloved husband, father, and pillar of the Denver community, peacefully journeyed into eternal rest on February 24, 2024, at the age of 91. Albert, affectionately known as "Pablo," was born on December 10, 1932, in Torrington, Wyoming, to Carmen and Jose Castañeda.

Albert's life was marked by a deep sense of devotion to his family, the Catholic Church, and community. He was preceded in death by his dear mother, Carmen; father, Jose; sister, Mary; and brothers, Julian, Joe, and George.

Albert's spirit lives on through his loving wife, Anna, and nine children: Eddie (Connie), Freddy, Joey (Rose), Michael (Julie), Jimmy (Kathy), Janet, Kathy, Carol (Ralph), Juliana (Andy), and two step-children, Bernadette and Robert. Albert leaves a legacy of love and laughter with 27 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren. His memory is also cherished by his living sisters, Carmen Esparza and Lupe (Tony) Puente.

In 1953, Albert enlisted in the Army and was a Gunner in Company B, 1st Battalion, of the 349th Infantry, where he served in post-WWII efforts in Germany and the Korean War. Albert shared stories with his family about his role in driving a Jeep for his officers. Albert earned the National Defense Service Medal and Army Occupation Medal (Germany) as a part of this service. In 1955, Albert transferred to the Army Reserve in California, where he completed an additional eight years of service.
Albert was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the Elks Club, and Our Lady of Visitation Catholic Church throughout his life. His passion for sports, particularly the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies, was well-known among his family and friends.

In honor of Albert's memory, contributions may be made to his wife, Anna Castañeda, in place of flowers. The impact of his kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be felt by those fortunate to know him. May he rest in peace, knowing his legacy will inspire future generations.
