Alex Mansanarez was born October 8, 1927 to Milo Mansanarez and Laura Martinez in Monte
Vista, Colorado. The family relocated to Denver, Colorado in about 1943.
Alex married Flora Cisneros on April 15, 1950 in Denver. They had one son, Eric. Eric and wife,
Christine, have two children, Sierra and Devin. Sierra and husband, Richard Patterson, have
two children, Richie and Samara.
As a youngster, Alex labored in the San Luis Valley manually harvesting crops. Once in Denver,
he gained work as a shoe repairman and shoe salesman. In January 1953, he was inducted
into the U.S. Army, receiving an honorable discharge in May of that same year. Soon afterward,
Alex began an enduring career as a retail jewelry salesman/store manager for Zales, Helzberg
and other stores in the Denver area, finally retiring in his 70s.
Activities Alex enjoyed include drawing and painting, calligraphy, word puzzles, bowling, dining
out, and sipping multiple cups of coffee accompanied by pie and lively conversation. He loved
and worshiped the Lord Jesus Christ. Alex lovingly spent many hours each week preparing to
teach Senior's Sunday school class at Healing Waters Ministries.
Surviving Alex are sisters Margaret Martinez, Clea Miller, Lenora Reyes and numerous nieces
and nephews. Preceding Alex in death, in addition to his parents, is his older brother, Gilbert,
and two younger siblings, Milito and Lenora.
