On February 10th, 2019, Alexander Ray Price comfortably passed away at home at the age of 27. He was born on the 26th of June to loving mother, Christina Price, and father, Kenneth Price in the beautiful state of Colorado. He always talked about living in Colorado as if it was his ultimate sanctuary, and could never see himself living anywhere else. He loved always being able to see the mountains and enjoyed exploring wherever he was in the state.
He loved traveling with his family at a young age and went all over the world. Alexander always talked about traveling through Europe with his family, and loved sharing stories of his 13th birthday in Costa Rica.
Alex was always curious about the world around him, looking for new experiences at every turn in his life. This curiosity eventually landed him in art school where he started perfecting his skills in as many mediums he could possibly manage. Alex loved discovering and trying it new art forms. Recently he'd been whittling, painting, drawing, and was even learning how to sew.
His love of traveling and art came together in his passion for painting graffiti on trains.
Alex loved going out to graffiti around the city, but especially loved painting on trains. He was obsessed with trains of all kinds. He dreamed of traveling the country to visit old train yards.
He loved making music, and played many instruments, including the trumpet and the guitar, but he was most passionate about the bass. When he was in high school he was part of a band called Last Year's Losers, which played in a few shows at the high school, but he mostly enjoyed small instrumentals sessions in friends' basements. Alex loved intimacy mixed with his music and later in life preferred to perform in private sessions with his girlfriend, Aubrey.
Alex's smile was infectious, and he could find a way to make anyone laugh. People flocked to Alex because of his humor and charm. His affection knew no bounds, whether it was for his partner Aubrey, who he would call just to tell her he loved her; his parents, who never gave up on him, no matter how much he pushed back, or his many friends, who could count on him to be there to help them move, or be there when they were trying to clean up their life. No matter what, Alex was always there for friends in need, and was always willing to give people a second, third or even a fourth chance. Alex didn't even have to know you for him to open his heart; he regularly gave clothing and shoes to people in need, just so they could be better clothed. His love extended to animals, too. No matter what kind of animal it was, Alex wanted it as a pet or at least wanted to pet it. His partner, Aubrey, constantly had to tell him he couldn't have an alligator or any poisonous spiders.
Alex will be remembered for his boundless love and loyalty, his dedication to hard work, his ability to look equally comfortable dressed for the gym or a nice dinner, his fierce blue eyes, and the ability to be true to himself in any circumstance.
He is survived by his loving parents, Chris and Kenny, his aunts; Linda and Barbara, his uncles; Mike and Randy, his cousins; Simone, Christopher, Kristen and her husband Jay, and by his partner, Aubrey, and their two cats, Sinister and Chichi.
His ashes will be spread many places, including at the legal graffiti wall in Boulder, Colorado and at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, any contribution in the name of Alexander Ray Price should be made out to the Denver Dumb Friends League.
We will always hold on to the memories you gave us Alexander, we love you so much.
