Mass of Christian Burial for Alfreida M. Dilcher will be Friday, June 20, 2008 at 1:00P.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6853 So. Prince St., Littleton. Interment, Fort Logan National Cemetery. Reception to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Alfreida passed away peacefully in her sleep and is no longer burdened by the debilitating pain she has lived with for several years. She has joined her beloved parents, George and Agnes Savolt, and Karl, her husband and love of her life, all of whom have preceded her in death. Having no siblings or children of her own, Alfreida's extended family of numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins were an important and vital part of her life through the years. Even with her many family members being scattered throughout the country, Freida, as many of us call her, tried to maintain connections with as many of her aunts, uncles and cousins as possible. Alfreida retired from the Federal Government as an Information Systems Specialist/Administrator with the Social Security Administration in 2000. Just as Freida enjoyed the company and companionship of her extended family throughout the years, she had the same loyalty to her many friends, co-workers, and fellow volunteers. We know that Freida was a frequent volunteer with St. Mary's Pre-School, sharing her time and love with the precious pre-schoolers in her community.
Alfreida had a fantastic sense of humor and quick wit, and joined in making many, many memorable moments with those of us who spent time with her in "the good ole days". While it became difficult for her in the recent years, she loved to laugh and sing and spend time with many of her family and friends.
She was also a very talented artist, having studied art at Colorado State University before joining the ranks of the "working folks" and embarking upon a successful career in both private industry and with the Federal Government.
Notwithstanding the difficulties she faced with pain and mobility, Freida could be found at Bingo City surrounded by friends, taking care of her planter boxes with her favorite flowers, and always looked 'put together' when she went out shopping and visiting with friends and family. As prolific writer, her favorite mediums were email and greeting cards.
May she rest in peace.
