Aloysius C. Pelz, 82, entered into Eternal Rest on September 2, 2018, in Aurora, CO. He was born April 2, 1936, in Ost, Kansas, the son of John and Caroline Pelz.
On April 26, 1958, he married Ruthe J. Dow in Wichita, Kansas.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 - 1982. While in the service he received the Air Force Commendation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 2 Devices, Army-Air Force Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with 2 Devices, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters.
He served as a U.S. Postal Employee 1983 - 2001.
Survivors include wife Ruthe J. Pelz, sons Aloysius II (spouse: Michelle) and Alex (spouse: Dana) of Aurora, CO, Alan (spouse: Karyn) of Greeley, CO; daughters Debra Tomlin (spouse: Richard) of Aurora, CO, and Yvette Maple (spouse: Robert) of Westminster, CO; sister Pauline Russell (Spouse: Darwin "Russ") of Michigan; 5 grandchildren: Candice, Jennifer, Courtney, Tiffany, Tyler; 1 step grandchild: Brittany; and one great-grandson: Robert Jr due to come into the world on October 12.
Preceded in death by parents John and Caroline Pelz; sisters Othilia Robben, Julietta Seiler, Mary Joan Seiler and Bernadette Kelley; brothers John, Eugene, Virgil, and Edward.
Visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home in Aurora on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 6-7pm, followed by a Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10:30am. Burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 2:15pm.
