Alvin Kuhn (89) born 12/27/1934 in Columbus, Ohio, and long-time resident of Northglenn, Colorado, passed away July 17, 2024 after being diagnosed with Amyloidosis. He was preceded in death by wife, Jeanine (2009). Father to Sherri Simmons (Scot), deceased 2021, Karin Kuhn, Aurora, and Patricia Stansbury (Mike), Northglenn. Grandfather to Justin Stansbury (Kendra), Harrisburg, PA, and Nicolas Stansbury, Northglenn. Great grandfather to Drew and Dylan Stansbury, Harrisburg, PA. Brother to Rita Clemans (Gene) and preceded in death by Rosemary Bisutti (Leo), Ronald Kuhn (Marti), and Elona Avrett (Bob) and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Al was best known for being a very generous and kind – an awesome human being. Hearts are aching for the loss of this wonderful man.
Al ‘s passions included working on cars, watching sports (especially Cleveland Guardians and Browns, Colorado Rockies, Denver Nuggets and Broncos), ballroom dancing (long-time dance partner, Helen Weingarten (deceased), bowling, and was a ferocious listener and collector of jazz music. He was an active member of the WMWAs, Denver Jazz Club, Elks, American Legion, and Knights of Columbus. Al had been a truck driver (Teamster) for many years and ended his work life as a bus mechanic for Mapleton Public Schools. Al served in the Air Force and was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base where he met Jeanine. He was then transferred to Fairbanks, Alaska, where he sent for Jeanine and they were married. After being honorably discharged, Al and Jeanine moved to Denver and later to Northglenn (1964) where they raised their family.
The family will have a reception at the American Legion Hall, 11081 Irma Drive, Northglenn. A private burial at Fort Logan will be held at a later date.
