Amy's family would like to share some of their memories with you. Amy was a very special person and she had a special place in all of our lives. Her time with us was far too short but she will always have a special place in our hearts.
Amy Jo Vowell was born April 3rd 1973 in Westminster Colorado to Marvin and Sandra Vowell. Amy was a blonde haired blue eyed ball of life and was cute as a button to the eyes of the people who laid they're eyes on her. It all started when she turned the age of two when she discovered her play telephone, a brand new toy that opened her eyes to a big world of friendships and love. She bloomed into a wonderful person and she made everyone feel like a kindred spirit to those who did not expect it. Through out her youth, Amy's grandmother Ardith was a very important person in her life, and when she lost her grandmother she lost a piece of herself. Amy grew up traveling around Colorado; she also lived on a horse ranch and a dairy farm where her and her sister Stacey would play out their favorite show "Simon & Simon", detectives.
As Amy grew older, she developed an eye for boys, her first boyfriend's name was Robert and according to her "It was love at first sight." The young man that she meet and who she felt was her soul mate was Tony Lawson.
Not only was Amy loved by her friends and family, she was very out going and interacted with who ever needed the kindness. She made friends easily and she never knew a stranger.
All through high school Amy may have had her mind on boys and book work, but she protected her little sister from the bullies. Amy graduated in 1993 at Overland High school with honors and hoped someday to become a lawyer. Due to circumstances beyond her control she did not get to fulfill that dream. Amy's other dream was to have a son and that dream came true when Sean was born on October 21st 1994 in Amarillo Texas. She took Sean to Tucson Arizona to meet his great grandparents Charles and Linda Gorham when he was only four month old. Then on Valentines Day she brought him home to Denver to her mother Sandy and younger sister Stacey. She was a wonderful mother and loved her son deeply.
There were many things that Amy loved and enjoyed like; the colors red and black, roses, the Denver Broncos (she never lost faith in them when they lost a game), Michael Jackson (Thriller was her favorite album), Garth Brooks, Heavy metal music, TV shows; Sex in the City, Angel, Buffy, Charmed and Law & Order. She also enjoyed movies like Night at the Roxbury, Star Wars and Hope Floats. Amy also loved to go to Star Wars/Star Trek conventions. One of the things that Amy had in common with her sister Stacey was the love of the theater; they both got to experience apart of that when they played extras in the movie "Asteroids". They also played extras (along with Sean) in a commercial with the Rockies baseball team, but what she enjoyed and what made her happy was to laugh and love.
Amy was a feisty fun lady; her cousins best friend. We will miss her so much.
