It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Andy Chavez at the age of 78. He was born on October 25, 1945, in Willard, New Mexico to his parents Antonio and Guadalupe Chavez. Andy was a cherished member of our family and community, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him, but we find comfort in knowing he has now reunited with his beloved parents and his sister Jenny.
Andy's life was marked by his passions for fishing, golfing, reading, music, and his selfless service to others through his volunteer work at the local food bank. His quick wit and love for a good joke were trademarks of his personality, alongside the ever-present Marlboro cigarette.
Andy leaves behind his wife, Bertha and his children Austin, Marianna, Abel, and Erika. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Mario, Aaron, Isaac, Larissa, Abel Jr., Mario, Quetzalli, and Carolina. He is also survived by his siblings Toby and Josie, along with his daughters-in-law Monica and Maria, and son-in-law Isaac.
We invite friends and loved ones to join us in honoring Andy's life on Monday, April 15th, 2024, at Newcomer, located at 901 S. Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80226, beginning at 10:00 am. Your presence will be a source of comfort as we come together to commemorate the wonderful person Andy was.
