Anita Louise Powe

With much sadness, daughters Ingrid and Anne, granddaughters Zoe, Ava and Leona and sister Doris, announce that Anita Louise Kasson Powe died at her home in Black Hawk, Colorado on the evening of February 18, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Mabel Kasson, and brother, Micheal. A loving mother and grandmother, Anita is beloved by the many who were blessed to know her. A pillar to her family and a successful professional, Anita provided guidance, knowledge, and a positive example for many in her community.

Anita was born in Topeka, Kansas and grew up in Colorado. She enjoyed an adventure and had the opportunity to live in many states including, California, Texas, Mississippi, Florida and Illinois. She spent most of her life working in the field of medical device complaint management and reporting. Anita will be remembered, by many, for her kindness, style, grace, and professionalism. But to her loved ones, Anita will be remembered for her loving counsel, support, kindness, and friendship.

Due to the pandemic, we are unable to safely hold a large gathering at this time. A celebration of life will be held July 10th at 2pm at the home of daughter Ingrid. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made in her name to your favorite community garden or botanical organization.

Anita was an avid gardener and loved spending time digging in the dirt, growing flowers, plants and food. Anita would likely prefer that in her remembrance, you not have sorrow, but rather joy. Take a moment to enjoy the things in living that she did- read a book, dig in the dirt, listen to music, have a cocktail, hug a loved one and remember the many good times you spent together. We honor Anita by living our lives without her as we lived our lives with her. Anita will be with us always.
