Anna Palumbo

July 6, 1927 — November 5, 2019

Anna Palumbo , 92, of Lakewood, passed away November 5, 2019.

Anna was born in the Bronx, New York on July 6, 1927, the daughter of Thomas and Carmella (Bozzi) Occhiogrosso. She lived there during her childhood and young adulthood.

She Married Donald Palumbo in February of 1953. All three children, James "Jimmy", Diana and Camille were born in the Bronx.

In 1965, Anna and Donald moved to Hauppauge, Long Island to raise their children. On Long Island, Anna worked along side Donald in their "Mr. Softie" Ice Cream Truck.

In 1976 the family moved to Lakewood, Colorado, where son Jimmy had married and had their first Grandson, Jason.

Anna worked at Target in the fitting room until she retired in 1992. Shortly after, Anna and Donald moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Anna lived there with Donald and remained there after his death until 2009.

In 2009 Anna moved back to Lakewood to live with her daughter Camille. She spent a short time in Assisted Living, when she needed extra care. She passed quietly with her daughters and son-in-law by her side.

Anna's love was for her family and her church. She loved having everyone over for an Italian meal on Sundays. She loved to baby sit all her grandchildren and she had a special bond with all four grandsons. She enjoyed going to the Clements Center and other senior groups for luncheons and activities. She belonged to her Church Small group for over 15 years. When younger, Anna attended bible studies and folded Bulletins at church.

Her friend Shirley from church left these specials words that describe who Anna was:

"Anna was such a sweet, kind, faithful servant of our Lord. Her quiet strength in the face of many hard issues of loss and health problems was truly inspiring. I will miss her so much, she was a sweet sister. We enjoyed many Bible studies together. It was a joy to serve with her for our Church over many years."

Up until the very end Anna thanked all those who helped her: Her family, care givers, Hospice and visitors.

She will be forever remembered by her family and friends.
