Annette (Anderson) Krump was born February 28, 1927 in North Henderson, IL. She was an only child, growing up on a farm in Oneida, Ill, near Galesburg with her parents Robert and Florence Anderson. As she grew up during the Depression she remembers having plenty of food but often little or no money.
She never learned to ride a bicycle, riding her horse instead. When she graduated from ROVA High School she was in a class of 12, all young women as all of the men her age were serving the country during WW II.
She went to Augustana College in Rock Island, IL graduating with a degree in teaching. She was an excellent athlete and earned a varsity letter for Field Hockey, very unusual for women in college at that time.
She married Bob Krump in November of 1951 and they moved to Denver, CO. He preceded her in death.
In the nearly 70 years she lived in Aurora, Ann was very active in the Girl Scouts, Cub and Boy Scouts, Aurora Public Schools, Golf and bowling leagues and several libraries up until early 2020.
She was a volunteer at the Aurora hospitals and her love of crafts had her hand making numerous items for the Women's Auxiliary to sell in the gift shops.
Ann was a member if American Association of University Women (AAUW), very accomplished in her love of quilting and a competitive Life Master in bridge.
A life long Christian she was active in her faith and church at Heather Gardens Chapel.
She was a 20-year survivor of Breast Cancer, beating it twice.
She is survived by her sons Jeff and Rick; grandchildren Kevin, Brian, Maria, Diana and Nicole and her great-grandson Skyler.
One more thing…. Her first name was not Ann. It was Doris, but she hated it and only used it when it was mandated.
