Arnold Griffin

November 1, 1943 — August 7, 2024

With heavy hearts we announce Arnold Keith Griffin passed away on August 7, 2024 in the loving care of Pathways Hospice in Fort Collins. He was 80 years old. Arnold (“Jim”) was born on November 1, 1943 in Ohio to parents Morris and Margaret Griffin. Arnold lived a life full of love and dedication to his family. He married Kathy Clark in 1970 and together they had two children, Kenneth Griffin and Kimberly Griffin (Shelton). Then divorcing, he remarried Jodell Shearer in 1980 with her three children, Dale and Jeff Martin and Shannon Shearer (later adopted). Together they had a daughter, Brandy Griffin (Jones).

Arnold was an accomplished mechanic spending decades working on heavy equipment for John Deere. His hands not only fixed machines but extended unselfishly to help friends, family and strangers without hesitation. Even in retirement, he worked at Curtis Spotting Services to stay active and spent years volunteering with Meals on Wheels to help others in need. He will be remembered for his open and giving heart, his work ethic, his generosity and his unwavering commitment to his family.

Arnold found immense joy and love from his devotion to family. He is survived by his wife Jodell Griffin, his children Kenneth Griffin, Shannon Griffin and Brandy Jones and his stepchildren Dale Martin and Jeff Martin. Arnold leaves behind brothers Ricard, Loren and Lee Griffin and a large and loving extended family of 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Morris and Margaret, his sister Carol Domben and sadly, his daughter Kimberly Shelton who passed away in January 2024.
