Beloved father, grandpa, uncle, and friend, Art passed away at age 89 on July 1, 2010 after a brief hospital stay. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Betty. Art leaves behind a grieving family including daughter Chris (Dave), son Bill (April), grandchildren Shauna (Carla), Mariah (Anna), Amelia and Aidan, in-laws Nancy and Jerry and many nieces and nephews. Art began caddying in Portland while still in school and went on to be a record breaking amateur golfer. He served in the Navy during WWII on a minesweeper in the Pacific. Most of his career was spent working as Division Manager for Brach Candy Company. He was active in the Methodist Church for 65 years. His last years were spent at Lakewood Meridian where everyone became his friend. Memorial Services will be at Applewood Valley United Methodist Church, 2035 Ellis St., Golden, CO 80401 at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 22, 2010. Donations may be made to the church. Private Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
