Arthur Newman Wise, 89, of Aurora, passed away Friday October 6, 2023.
He was born to Harry and Marcella Wise in Platteville, Colorado on June 30,1934. One of 8
siblings, he spent is youth on the farm, maintaining and driving the tractor and harvesting the
crops. After graduating high school, he joined the Army where he served in Japan and
other parts of the Far East. Upon returning to Colorado, he attended Regis College. While
working to put himself through school, he met Jane Pisterzi. They were married on April
22, 1961 and had 3 sons, Arthur Jr, Paul and Joe. The family moved to California in 1967,
where he owned and operated a Shell Service station. Upon Jane's untimely death in 1992, he
moved back to Colorado where he was introduced to Donita Hulse, by their longtime mutual
friends, Jim and Carol Zeleny. On August 20,1994, Art and Donita were married. Joining
Art's 3 sons with Donita's 2 children, John and Amy. Art and Donita had many adventures
through the years, traveling throughout the States to see friends and family, as well as seeking
new adventures in other parts of the world. He loved cars of all kind. Formula One Racing was
a favorite. He was an excellent cook, often making gourmet style meals for family and friends.
He also enjoyed reading the Wall Street Journal and watching the finance channels on tv.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Donita Wise, his three sons, Arthur Jr, Paul and Joe
Wise, step-daughter Amy Thorne, and granddaughter Sydney Davis(Zack). He was preceded
in death by his first wife Jane Wise, his step-son John Hulse, and siblings, Ed Wise, Harry
Wise, Ellen Imgrund, and Laura Rogers.
