Arthur L. Wood was born on July 14, 1941. His family moved to Kansas City, Missouri when he was six years old. He grew up with an older sister and brother. After high school in September 1958 he joined the Army Military Police. On December 1, 1961 he married his wife Hermine and raised two sons, Byron and Jeff, of Aurora Colorado. His military service took him to Germany, Japan, Vietnam, and several bases in the USA. He retired from the Army at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in September 1978. He then went to work as a public safety officer for the State of Colorado at Fort Logan Mental Health Center. He retired for the second time in September, 1999.
He loved all kinds of music, fishing, dancing, traveling, and movies (especially science fiction). Above everything he loved his nine-year-old grandson Ehren.
Services with full military honors will be held at 11:00AM Friday at Newcomer East Metro Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Colorado State Veterans Home at Fitzsimons, 1919 Quentin Street, Aurora, 80012 or The Alzheimers Association.
