We could not have asked for a more wonderful daughter.
Where do we start? How do we begin a farewell when we still can't believe she's gone? From the beginning of her life we never knew a love could be so strong.
There are only a handful of people who come into our world, and touch your life in a dramatic fashion. Some of the people are just flickers of light during a long life, while others are a constant glow. Ashley was and always will be our constant glow.
She always appreciated the little things in life. The smell after a spring rainstorm, catching snowflakes on her tongue, and the excitement of her dog, Garnet, when she would say the word walk-about. She loved dancing, flowers, painting, cooking and just about anything where she could express through creativity.
We have much consolation in the good feelings our memories give.
We fondly remember the gourmet dinner she prepared for us. The table was beautifully set, napkins folded as only Ash could do, and the candles were lit. The meal smelled and looked absolutely wonderful. She always said that you eat with your eyes first. Ash said we had to guess what it was. Well, it was absolutely delicious and after unsuccessful guessing she finally started laughing and said it was canned tuna! Only Ashley could have pulled that off.
Ash enjoyed little things and said it was ridiculous for a grown women to sleep with a teddy bear. But this was a special bear given to her by her brother, Ben. She named him Graham. Even when she would spend the night Graham was with her.
She was so beautiful, intelligent and her sense of humor was remarkable.
She loved the Lord so very much.. One of the last things Ashley said was that she loved God and He was her savior.
Ashley was a fighter for life, but on November 14th the fight became to much. We miss Ashley so much and wonder how we will endure the pain. But we know she is no longer in pain and in a much better place. We will try to work through our sadness by knowing how much joy and happiness she brought into our lives. God is already working little miracles by bringing our family closer together. We were the luckiest people on earth to have been chosen as her parents. God gave her to us for 29 glorious years and we will thank God every day for the time we shared together.
We will continue for all of our days to love and miss her. Ash will always be on our minds. We will speak to her and laugh with her and she will always be in our hearts.
Always and forever is our love for Ashley.
Thank you dear friends and family for all you have done and all you continue to do for us.
God Bless,
Joni, Terry and Ben
