Aurelia R. "DeeDee" Carroll, 71, of Denver, passed away August 8, 2018.
She was born November 1, 1946 in Las Animas, Colorado, the daughter of Albert and Carmen (Delaney) Sanchez.
She was a graduate of Trinidad High School High School. She received her Associates Degree from Trinidad Community College.
On May 7, 1988, she married Matthew George Carroll, Jr., after 13 years of courtship.
DeeDee was a member of the Nurse's Union at St. Anthony's Hospital.
DeeDee loved dancing and spend time with her family. She enjoyed her dogs. DeeDee enjoyed her trips to Nevada to visit her son and family. When in Nevada, she loved visiting her favorite casino, Sharkey's. In her younger years, DeeDee loved to spend time outdoors and camping. Many of DeeDee's birthdays were celebrated as a Halloween party with laughter and of course, dancing.
Aurelia is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, George Carroll; son, Bryan (Tina) Sanchez; step-son, Matt Carroll, III; step-daughter, Malisa (Dion Nelson) Carroll; grandchild, Bryan Sanchez, Jr.; three step-grandchildren, Malisa Ogle, Madison Nelson and Talin Nelson; four sisters, Becky and Tina, Lois Pacheco and Lola Trujillo; three brothers, (Toni) Richard; (Tammy) Fred and Eddie (Bunny) Fransua; special aunt, Corrine Fransua; nephew that is like a son to DeeDee, Marco Fransua; godson, Sammy Fransua; special nephew, Danny Pacheco; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; cherished dog, Hattie; two cherished cats, Crook and Chey and two cherished granddogs, Meana and Bella.
She is preceded in death by father, Albert Sanchez; mother, Carmen Delaney; step-son, Mark Carroll; two brothers-in-law, Alfred Pacheco and Sammy Trujillo; uncle, Arthur "Blackie" Fransua; five cherished dogs, Rowdy, Sampson, Wino, Lady and Curley and five cherished granddogs, China, Lucy, Bear, Liba and Blasia.
