Barbara ( Barb) Jean O’Hearn was a caring wife, mother, nana, sister and friend. She left this world suddenly on October 17, 2024 at age 66.
She was born to Raymond and Rosalie Shilling on December 30, 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska. Her father Raymond was in the Air Force which led to a lot of moving around. Colorado became her home in 1969 where she graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 1976.
After graduating Barb started working with U.S Homes which then led her to working for Peterson Concrete where she met her husband Thomas O’Hearn. Together they had two daughters Jessi and Nikki.
Tom worked his way up at Peterson Concrete to supervisor and after 10 years decided to start his own business along with Barb. Over the last 30 years together they built 3 successful concrete businesses until they recently retired in 2023. In June of 2001 Barb needed a kidney transplant due to her Polycystic Kidney Disease ( PKD).
Fortunately Tom was a match and was able to donate his kidney. Barb was overjoyed knowing that she would have more time to spend with her children. Ever since then she's been a huge advocate for finding a cure for PKD. At age 47 she became a Nana which was the happiest moment of her life. She was blessed with 8 beautiful grandbabies. Her entire world revolved around her husband, her children and her grandchildren. She was incredibly selfless and wanted nothing more than to see them happy. Barb and Tom enjoyed taking Jessi and Nikki on camping trips , and vacations to tropical places and continued that with the grandchildren. Barb always looked forward to her big summer vacation with the entire family.
Barb is survived by her husband Tom O’Hearn. Her baby girls Jessi and Nikki and her 8 grandbabies Mason, Naraea, Iziah, Katirah, LaKinnley, Kaliah, Saylor and Legend. Her son in law Eddie and her two sisters Debbie and Darlene.
