Barbara Jean Bordner of Bennett passed away on August 11, 2019. She was born on December 9, 1929 in Greeley, Colorado to Roy Robert and Gladys Marie Wailes. Barb attended Central Valley School and graduated from Bennett High School in 1948. She married her classmate, Bill Bordner, on December 17, 1950. Barbara was a telephone operator and bookkeeper for the Bennett Telephone Company from 1949 thru 1975,
a business that she co-owned with her husband.
Her most important occupation was that of devoted Wife, Mother, Grandma, and Great-Grandma. She was a treasured friend to countless people and always made anyone she came across feel loved, important, and special ~ a smile for everyone. Her many talents included baking incredible pies and cooking: she knew how to put love in her food and you could taste it! In addition, Barb enjoyed gardening and tending to her beautiful flower beds. When asked her religion she replied, "Nature." The hospital chaplain called this the "Dirt Church!" She found God and spirituality in the beauty of the Earth. She took many trips in her life which she greatly enjoyed and had tremendous fun at sports, concerts, and other events for all the kids. Bard loved her pets, too, especially her cats. In the final two months of her life, she demonstrated courage, strength, and faith that encouraged
and inspired all of us.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bill, children Jeff Bordner (Windy) and Susan DiSalle (Gino) all of Bennett. She is survived by nine Grandchildren and seven Great-Grandchildren with a new Great-Granddaughter to be born in October. Numerous cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends share our loss. Barb is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jim and Ken, infant daughter Peggy, son Billy Jack, and granddaughter Emily.
In lieu of flowers, if you choose, please send donations to a charity of your choice in memory of Barbara.
