Benita Olivia Gravning 92, of Denver, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, the 21st of June. She was born to the late Eduvijen Medina and Andrealita Gonzalez, May 8th, 1926, in Garcia, CO. where she attended school. She married and was a housewife and loving mother to her children and adoring grandmother to her grandchildren. She lived her entire life in Colorado.
Benita loved to travel with her husband to the surrounding states. They owned a condo in Arizona where they enjoyed spending their winter months in the warm weather. Benita also danced, sang and was known to make people laugh with her sense of humor and funny sayings. One of her favorite things to do was to talk on the phone with her family and friends.
Benita is survived by her husband Gordon Gravning, her five children: Ernest Martinez, Arnold Martinez, Patty Bennett, David Larson and Sammy Larson; her grandchildren: Abel and Shawn Martinez, Jason Bennett and Christopher Martinez and three siblings: Rose Harris, Ed Medina and Connie Olguin. She was proceeded in death by her sister Pearl Kirby and her brothers Tim and Urban Medina.
A viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 901 S Sheridan Blvd in Lakewood, CO from 5 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, June 26th. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 27th at 10 AM at Epiphany Episcopal Church, 100 Colorado Blvd in Denver. Graveside services will be at 12 PM at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery, 7777 W 29th Avenue in Wheat Ridge. There will be a reception following at Healing Waters Ministries, 6475 W 29th Avenue in Wheat Ridge.
