Benton "Benji" Elwood Jordan, 72, of Aurora, passed away Monday July 05, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Benton and Ruth Lorraine Jordan. He was born on September 12, 1948, in St. Louis, MO.
Benji is survived by his husband Scott Lynn Shute-Jordan, married on May 1, 2013 after twenty years of love, his two children: Benjamin and Laura, his grandchildren Andrew and Zack, and his 9 fur babies: Rex, Mariah, Bella, Sammie, Marley, Sally, Gidget, Princess and Oreo.
Benji graduated from Hinkley High School in 1967 and enlisted in the United States Air Force August 18, 1967. Benji received an Honorable discharge and final rank as sergeant after five years of service, including 12 months of service in the Vietnam War. Benji continued to be dedicated to his country by working for the Environmental Protection Agency for over 30 years.
Benji was a NASCAR fanatic. He was dedicated to Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliot throughout the years. He also enjoyed playing local darts with his husband Scott and many local friends.
To know Benji, was to know his passion for dog rescue, he loved his fur babies.

Public service will be held on Wednesday August 11, 2021 at 11am
Newcomer Funeral Home, 190 Potomac Street, Aurora, CO 80011.
Private Interment to take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Public gathering at "Hamburger Mary's Denver" [1336 E 17th Ave, Denver, CO 80218] on Wednesday August 11, 2021 at 4pm.
