Bernard Wyn

May 16, 1941 — May 11, 2019

Bernard Wyn, 77 of Littleton, Colorado passed from his earthly home and entered heaven on May 11th, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was the only son born of four siblings on May 16, 1941 born in Kent County Michigan to Barney and Johanna Wyn.

Married to his high school sweetheart Shirley (DeZeeuw) and lived in Michigan for 18 years before moving to Colorado in 1978.

God blessed him with many talents, but especially home building (construction, heating & cooling , plumbing, electrical, etc.) and he utilized these talents to mentor and help others.

Worked as a Self-employed Civil Engineering consultant, managing large water and sewage development projects all over Colorado.

Bernie also built a successful Custom Home building business and one home was featured on the cover of Homes and Land magazine.

He joined Ken Caryl mission and was baptized with his family. He became chairman of the building committee and launched a successful program with others and the Lord blessed them to be able to build a sanctuary and educational wing. His ministry continued for many years as a Deacon.

He loved the Colorado outdoors and spent many days in the mountains camping in his RV spending quality time enjoying family and friends. Each year he always found time to visit Rocky Mountain National Park taking pictures of wildlife and spending time in Grand Lake and Estes Park. He also loved visiting Hawaii with his sweetheart (Shirley) several times.

Arizona became like a second home when winter came to Colorado. He spent time in a retirement community in Phoenix making new friends and enjoying time BBQing, Shuffleboard, Bocce ball, community programs, coffee with friends and pizza nights.

Taking care of his Family was his number one priority along with enjoying time with the many Friends he made over the years. He also was able to give his 3 children the opportunity to attend college and get a degree.

Bernie loved the Lord and attended West Bowles Community Church. He enjoyed the "Best Years Yet" bible class. He appreciated their loving prayers of support and the visits, cards and phone calls.

Bernie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley (DeZeeuw) Wyn; Three Children: Richard Wyn (Edie) of Castle Rock, Robin Wyn-Barth of Loveland, and Rhonda Wyn of Littleton. Five grandsons; Zachary Wyn, Jared Wyn, Jason Wyn, Danny Barth and Levi Barth. Sisters; Karen Stewart and Darlene Smith.
