Bernice C. Johnson

of Aurora, CO, passed away Thursday evening, March 29, 2007, at the age of 92. She was born in Ft. Scott, Kansas on January 29, 1915. She grew up in several parts of Kansas, graduating from high school in Salina, KS, and moving to Pueblo, CO with her parents (Charles M. Barnhart and Edith Estella (Hester) Barnhart) and her sister (Edythe Mae (Barnhart) Guerkink) in 1933. On January 22, 1938, she married Thomas William Johnson while they both were 22 years old. They lived together in pueblo with their two sons(Dennis M. Johnson) and (Richard O. Johnson). Thomas died Oct 11, 1958. She moved to Aurora, CO in 1977 and remained there until her death. She managed a womens clothing store (Diana Shops) for many years in Pueblo and worked for the Montgomery Ward Company in Pueblo and Aurora both before and after her position at Diana Shops. She earned an Associates Degree in Business in her 50's and retired at the age of 75. She is survived by her sons: Richard O.; Dennis M. (wife Pat); granddaughter: Stacey Johnson. She will be interred next to her beloved "Tommy" in Pueblo Colorado.
