Bertus Ingram Blackmon Sr.

November 27, 1934 — March 7, 2018

Born November 27, 1934 to Talton Blackman and Thelma Smith Blackman. He graduated high school then entered the United States Air Force. While serving his country he met then married Mary C. Broyles on April 2, 1955. They were blessed with seven children. He served 20 honorable years in the United States Air Force, retiring 1974. He then made a career with the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1998.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, daughter, grandson and two great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, 6 children, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

Throughout life he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, reading, listening country music and as he would say "tinkering on cars." Most of all he loved spending time with family, camping/fishing with the grandkids and the weekend BBQs.

Our memories will bring a smile to our faces for we share many. You are forever in our hearts and will be dearly missed. Love you always and forever.
