Betty Jean Lieberman
November 17 1928-January 19th 2007
Born Betty Jean Layne in Sedalia, Missouri. She attended art school in Missouri, and was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She studied piano and violin all of her youth, Betty loved music and art, and was an accomplished pianist and painter.
Betty's first marriage in 1948 to Professional Rodeo cowboy Edward L. Brooks led to traveling America with Jeana performing as a professional barrel racer. During these years, Betty had three sons, Edward, Clement, and Louis. Our beloved Edward preceded us in death at age six.
In her second marriage in 1955 to Douglas Everett Larson of Missoula Montana, Betty became a loving housewife and mother to four beautiful daughters, three of whom are triplets. Debby, Diane, Denise, with Linda born one year earlier. After the unfortunate passing of Doug, she moved her children to Buffalo Missouri, to be close to her mother and brother.
During this time Betty met James J. Lieberman, and in 1962, converted to Judaism, changed her first name, and they married, and for almost two years they lived on a 44-acre Missouri farm. In 1964, Jeana and Jim moved their family to Lookout Mountain Colorado.
Jeana had many varied interests, and was able to travel many parts of the world with her third husband, James J. Lieberman.
In later years she became an award winning porcelain doll maker and was listed in the Who's Who of American Doll Makers. She owned various successful businesses, including Jeana's Golden Trunk, a jewelry store, in Golden, Colorado, and an antique store in Morrison Colorado. When Jim passed in 1985, after a long illness, Jeana retired to Salem, Oregon in 1986 to be close to the Pacific Ocean she so loved.
During this time she met and married Harry Williams, who was her companion to her last moment. They enjoyed day trips, dining out, shopping, oh yes, shopping, and quiet times together. As well, Jeana and Harry collaborated on her first published cookbook.
Mom loved her family, and she loved living life. In Gods loving care, may she live in eternity. If God is willing, one day, we will all be together again.
