Bobby Jon Harris, 83, joined his family in Heaven on October 24th, 2019 at University Hospital in Aurora, CO.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Shirley (Cope) Harris, his daughter, Barbara (Harris) Price, his son, Vern Harris, sisters Ramona Meiworm-Lamm and Virginia Tattershall, granddaughters Nichole Harris, LaDonna Worden, and Tera (Worden) Callaway. Grandsons Joshua, Jason and Alexander Harris, Nicholas Wilton, Jeremy Worden, and Bobby James Harris Jr., as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-grand children.
He is preceded in death by son Bobby James Harris, daughter Brenda Dee Harris, and grandson Christopher James Harris.
Born in Durango, Colorado, he was the son of Harvey and Helen Harris. Bobby began his military career when he joined the National Guard in 1953. In 1954 Bobby enlisted in the United States Army. He then changed his career in the military to the United States Air Force where he served on bases in the United States, Europe and Puerto Rico. Ending a military career of 22 years, Master Sergeant Harris was honorably discharged in 1975 at Lowry AFB in Colorado. After leaving the Air Force he was a mechanical technician the United States Post Office for an additional 20 Years. Bobby was a volunteer in the Strasburg Fire Department and retired after 20 years of service with the department. He was an active member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints.
Bobby was always there to help anyone in need. He devoted his life in service to his country and to his family to whom he loved. He will be missed by all.
