Bonnie June Garcia, 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Denver, Colorado, after a long battle with cancer. She was the first born to George and Lorene Garcia on June 10, 1948 in Denver, Colorado. Bonnie is survived by six siblings: Eddie (Pam) Garcia, Patti (Steve) Anguiano, Lori Garcia, Mike Garcia, Chris (Jennifer) Garcia, and CT (Tammy) Garcia, and three generations of nieces and nephews.
Bonnie's lifetime will be remembered as both inspiring and remarkable.
Her artistic passions led her to NY early on to study and experience all that was possible. She loved the arts...from jazz to dance, from sketching to painting, from photography to jewelry design. Bonnie's talent developed and her works were many; some shown in an art gallery, some given to family and friends, and some purchased from her personally-designed signature line.
Her personality was larger than life. Family gatherings lit up when Bonnie arrived...always sporting unique fashions from head to toe, and then striking a pose or breaking into dance. She was quick to add her stage presence whenever her siblings were jamming...stepping up to the keyboard with jazzing notes and moving freely to the beat.
While a cancer diagnosis had completely changed her life course, while her ability to speak was stolen, and while basic things such as breathing and eating were changed forever, Bonnie's resilience and perseverance prevailed, as did her wit and sense of humor. She kept us all rolling with laughter, and believing she was invincible.
From her brother CT, "Bonnie was a true free spirit, the epitome of personal strength. She taught me how to love life no matter what I had going on. She was our family champion, an honest, open-hearted individual, who touched the lives of everyone she met and left a lasting impression. Bonnie was an original for sure, one of the strongest people I've ever known. She was a sister, mentor, teacher, lover, best friend, dancer, artist, and pianist. Bonnie was everything she wanted to be, even when others told her she can't she did; and she did it with a style and flair that was her own and will never be matched. She will be greatly missed because she was the greatest in everything she wanted to be. A one of a kind original star, whose light will shine on forever."

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a celebration of her life will be held at a later time. The family welcomes guest book entries at this time.
