Bradley Dewitt Davis

Brad Davis died Saturday, July 11, at St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver from complications of a long illness. He was 40 years old.

Mr. Davis was born Sept. 16, 1968, at Rose Medical Center in Denver and graduated from Thornton High School in 1988. He was the youngest of five children.

Mr. Davis was a quick study in all things mechanical, musical or technical. He began playing guitar in middle school, taught himself to play the keyboard and wrote his own music. He loved cats and computers, creating Web sites for various nonprofit organizations, such as Destroyers Online and the Hillside Pool swim team of Greeley.

His interest in Navy ships from World War II grew from the service of his grandfather Hyman Davis on the USS Hazelwood. Mr. Davis was invited to attend a reunion of Hazelwood veterans, where he met many of the sailors who served with his grandfather on the destroyer.

Mr. Davis is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lorraine and Jerry McKellip; father and stepmother, Morton and Phyllis Davis; sister and brother-in-law Karen and George Tanner; brother and sister-in law Kirk and Heidi Davis; sister and brother-in-law Teri and Michael Klein; brother and sister-in-law Martin and Sharon Davis; six nieces; and three nephews.

Donations can be made to the Alport Syndrome Foundation, 1608 E. Briarwood Terrace, Phoenix, AZ 85048-9414.
