Bruce Paul Hediger: May 29, 1939 - April 13, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Bruce Hediger, 80, of Aurora Colorado, announces his passing On April 13, 2020. Bruce was born in Jersey City New Jersey to the late Cecelia and Ernst Hediger on May 29th 1939. He joined the US Air Force in July 1957 and married the love of his life Elizabeth (Betty) Reinsma on January 16, 1960 in Slayton Minnesota.
Bruce proudly served in the US Air Force for 20 years in remote locations around the world, settling in Aurora Colorado. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, he utilized his VA benefits to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, which, combined with the leadership skills he acquired in the military, allowed him to hold multiple positions managing IT organizations till his retirement.
Bruce never met a stranger, was as selfless as a human could be, unconditionally kind and affectionate, was perpetually positive, quick to laugh and cherished his family, friends and dogs. He was a proud and honored Air Force Veteran, and enthusiastically acknowledged and appreciated Veterans from all military branches for their service to our country. He was loved by all, and will be deeply missed by those who had the honor of knowing him.
Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Betty, his children Nancy Blankenship, Pamela Hediger-Sundstrom and Kevin Hediger, their spouses Robert Sundstrom, and Lora Hediger, his adoring grandchildren Christopher and Samantha Blankenship, Eric Sundstrom, Kayla and Julie Hediger, their partners, and his beautiful great-granddaughter. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Cecelia and Ernst, his stepfather August Stoeffler and his siblings Roy Hediger, Leo Hediger, Judy Ives and Ruthie Scharch.
In lieu of a memorial service, a celebration of life party will be scheduled for Bruce's family and friends to reminisce and share the Love and joy that he brought to their lives.
