Calvin Leroy Petersen, 91, of Denver, passed away April 4, 2019.
He was born May 13, 1927 in Hardy Nebraska, the son of Otto and Mildred Petersen. Calvin was born and spent his early years with a loving family in Nebraska.
After moving to Denver, Calvin met Doris in the early 1940's as teens at a Church Luther league event. Life and family took them in different directions, but they met again in 1946 after his Navy service years and Married in May 1948. Cal worked at Sears for 35 years, in the electronics service department forming strong lifetime friendships. Calvin & Doris became charter members of Christ the King Lutheran Church in 1956.
Calvin and Doris were blessed with their Son Ken, and later with their Daughter Deb. Calvin and Doris were married for 67 years.
Our Father will be missed greatly. A dedicated, humble and loving man, caregiver and resident tech provider, he was very patient and enjoyed fellowship with all he knew. He taught us faith, how to have deep friendships and the love of family. He had the ability to have all in his presence feel welcome, loved and included.
Calvin spent his final years at the Springwood Retirement Community, living, loving, enjoying every moment with an amazing group of friends and community.
Calvin is survived by his Son, Ken Petersen and his wife Pam; Daughter, Deb Lare and her husband Bob; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces & nephews; and sister in-law, Glenis Petersen.
He is preceded in death by Father, Otto and Mother, Mildred Petersen, Wife Doris, Sisters Lorene Schuster, Ellen Batson, and Brother Dean Petersen.
