Carmen Michelle Johnson, 66, of Aurora, passed away April 26, 2020.
She was born January 11, 1954 in Massillon, Ohio, the daughter of Herman and Lollie (Richardson) Brooks. She was a graduate of Washington High School in Massillon. She attended Bowling Green State University for three years after which she attended cosmetology school and received her certification.
On May 1, 1982, she married Martin Johnson.
Carmen is the co-Pastor of Kingdom Worship Word Center International. She was a prayer warrior and volunteered her time for prayer and counseling anyone who needed it.
Carmen loved to play the piano and sing for the church. She was an avid football fan. She loved cooking and baking and was a caterer in her spare time. She was also a wedding planner. Above all, Carmen will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished the time that she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Carmen is survived by her husband of 38 years, Martin Johnson; son, Danell J. (Olga) Johnson; daughter, LaShelle J. Johnson; two grandchildren, Maya D. Johnson and Alexander D. Johnson; brother, Jerry Brooks; sister, Carol Marlene Tolbert and many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by father, Herman Brooks; mother, Lollie Brooks and brother, Gilbert Brooks.
