Carmen Lopez, age 67, went to be with her Lord on Monday, March 9, 2020. She was born August 4, 1952 in Brighton, Colorado to Juan Tenorio and Aurora Quintana. She was the youngest of nine children. After graduating from Brighton High School, she ventured out and moved to Denver, Colorado.
On May 19, 1973 she married her loving husband Steve Lopez and together they raised David (Amy) and Monica (Marcus Vigil). Carmen had a long career as an insurance agent in the Denver area until 2014 when she retired to spend more time with her grandkids. She had four grandchildren: Mya, Marcus, Alexandra, and Liam. Her grandchildren were very special to her and she always jumped at the chance to spend time with each of them.
Carmen will be remembered as a woman of faith. She was one of the first to arrive each week to celebrate mass. She read the bible often, recited prayers, and had faith that God walked by her side during both good and challenging times.
Carmen had a joyous reunion with her mother Aurora, father Juan, and three sisters: Jose Bueno, Emer Morales, and Prax Sisneros. She is survived by sisters Dorothy Garcia and Jenny Baca (Manuel), her brothers, Manuel (Virginia), Bob (Priscilla), and Fred (Naomi). She is also survived by many in-laws, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, a gathering to celebrate Carmen is postponed until a later date. A beautiful rosary and funeral service was held for Carmen with her immediate family. Cremains will be buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton, Colorado.
Honorary Pallbearers are David Lopez, Marcus Vigil, Leonard Sisneros, Julius Sisneros, Mike Garcia, James Garcia, Marcus "Markie" Vigil, and Liam Lopez.
