Carol Louise Roper, wonderful daughter, sister, friend, and exceptional piano teacher went Home to Jesus Wednesday, April 20th, after a short illness.
Carol was born in Denver, Colorado to Lou and Mable Roper, but spent her growing up years in Albuquerque New Mexico. She got her B.S. degree in Music Education at the University of New Mexico, and moved to Denver University to get her degree in Vocal Performance. Here she stayed teaching piano in the Denver Public Schools and then piano and voice to countless students for more than 45 years.
Carol loved the opera, going to Boulder Dinner Theater, reading murder mysteries, drinking Pepsi, but she especially loved hanging out with her beloved kitties.
She is survived by her brother, Chuck Roper (Sarah), sister Gail Salazar (Tom), niece Rachel Noonan (Dan), and her cousins Lori Koenck and Ric McClelland.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday April 26th, at 2:00 at Newcomer Funeral Home located at Potomac and 2nd St. in Aurora. 190 Potomac Street Aurora 80011. Reception to follow.
