Carol Ann Andrew was born in Longmont Colorado on January 18, 1950 to Fredolin and Mary Schoendaller. She had one brother Ray and three sisters Lucy, Karen, and Jane. She attended Longmont High School and graduated in 1968. On January 17, 1970 she married Delbert Teddy. The couple met on a blind date and were instantly in love. They had two children, a daughter Laurie and a son Paul. Delbert and Carol raised their family in Northglenn, Colorado. She was everything you could want a mother to be. She baked the best cherry cobbler, so good that Paul ate the whole pan while she was outside painting the house. She sewed Halloween costumes every year and Laurie and Paul competed and won in costume contests regularly. She was also the best room mother any kid could ask for. Her husband Delbert Teddy preceded her in death on May 29, 1998.
She was a preschool teacher for over 30 years. Most of her career she taught at Little Village Preschool in Thornton, Colorado and Crossroads Corner in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She was a favorite teacher known as "Miss Carol" to all. She made such a positive impact on hundreds of children's lives.
In May 2004, Carol married Delwin Andrew. She moved to Bayard, Nebraska and began her life on the farm. She loved living on the farm. All of her grandkids enjoyed spending time on the farm during the summers every year and making homemade ice cream. She loved doing her annual Halloween party every year where she would make everything special and spooky and she even became the witch that stole Nana!
Above all, Carol loved being a Nana. Even though she lived in Nebraska the last 17 years, she did her best to attend all of her grandchildren's activities. As all Nana's do, let's brag a little about her grandchildren. Her oldest grandson Chris, was the first to call her Nana and the name just stuck. He was a marine, got married, and gave her her first great grandchild. Matt always treasured Nana's homemade gifts, especially the cellophane wrapped ones. He too blessed her with great grandchildren. She always loved coming down in the summer to spend a week at the fair and watch Tyler show pigs and steers. She made sure to always bring pig and steer sugar cookies along with her. Jessica spent countless summers at Nana and Delwin's house making mud pies and swimming in the irrigation ditch. Jessica would always come home with her "Nana net" hairstyle. Nana loved to also come down on the weekends to watch Talon play football. Kendall loved climbing the tree at Nana and Delwin's house until… she fell out and was never allowed to climb the tree again. She even has the scar on her back to prove it. Gavin and Nana would always sit on the floor and play cars together and her homemade blanket always made Gavin feel so special, nothing could ever replace that blanket. The youngest one Alison always had a special place in her heart for her Nana, she would always create bracelets and coloring pages for Nana to enjoy. All her grandkids loved the special memories created with Nana throughout their childhood and she will be dearly missed by all of them.
In addition to all this, she also enjoyed crafts, sewing, and playing the piano. She made sure to always make her grandkids handmade Christmas pajamas complete with perfect detail. She loved unconditionally and made everyone she met feel special. She not only impacted her family but also her friends. She was a wonderful mom, friend, Nana, and so much more. As we say goodbye to her today, we remember all the wonderful memories she left with us and thank God for her everyday.
