Carole C. Evans, 84, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020 after a short illness.
She was born to Frank and Genevieve Cooper on October 11, 1935 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy. She married the late Cecil Evans in 1952, and they lived in Baton Rouge, with their two children, Scott (Linda) Evans and Tracie (Mike) Nigro. Carole worked for the state of Louisiana, as the assistant to the Secretary of State for many years. In 1970, they relocated to Denver, Colorado. Carole started a long career working in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. There, she made many life-long friends.
Carole's greatest source of joy was her family, in particular her grandchildren, Lauren (Rich) Killewald and Kyle (Brittany) Stevens; and her great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Stevens, Grant Killewald and Josie Killewald.
Carole was a devoted fan of the LSU Tigers football team, and had a major crush on Joe Burrow. She never missed a game. This year's championship made her so happy!
She loved to travel and visit family and friends; she loved to garden and had a gift for creating gorgeous summer flowerpots. She was also famous for her gift of storytelling, which most-often included every little detail, pertinent to the story or not. She loved animals. She was never without a cat or dog in her home, most recently her loyal companion was Orange Cat, who misses her very much. They spent every morning together while Carole drank her coffee and read the Baton Rouge paper.
She loved her family so much and we loved her right back!
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
