Carole Esther Lovely, age 88 of Aurora, CO passed away July 10, 2022. Carole was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 9, 1933 to Emerson and Esther Heath. She attended South Eastern High School. She met Jim on a blind date when he was stationed at Selfridge AFB, Michigan .They eloped to Angola Indiana and were married August 11, 1950.
During her twenty years as a military wife, Carole lived in Detroit, Wyoming, Newfoundland, Selfridge AFB for a second duty assignment, Germany, and lastly Travis AFB, CA. After Jim retired form the military, they relocated to Aurora CO in 1968. Carole was able to visit many countries as a military wife and always cherished those memories. She especially lover her time in Germany and Italy.
Carole worked for a total of 24 years at Lowry AFB. Seven years at the NCO Club in accounting. Retiring in 1994 after 17 years with Civil Service. During those yeas she worked in Retired Pay, Word Processing and Freedom of Information. Also, in her much younger days, she worked as a car hop on roller skates at Jerry's Drive In in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
During her retirement years, Carole and Jim thoroughly enjoyed traveling in their motor home. They visited all 50 of the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska. She particularly loved vacations where water and oceans were involved, as she visited Hawaii 4 times. Carole took pleasure when doing crafts. She had a special talent when tole painting on wood, pouring and painting ceramics, and liked to crochet. Working in the yard, gardening and tending her flowers was relaxing to her.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jim, grandsons Brian and Aaron, She is survived by her son James Michael, daughters Cindy (Garry) and Terry. She has four grandchildren and 2 great grand children. Carole was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the TREA. She will be missed by all her family and friends. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Salvation Army and Make A Wish Foundation or a charity of your choice.
Services for Carole are on Tuesday July 26th at Newcomer East Metro Chapel located at 190 Potomac St. Aurora CO 80011 beginning at 11:00 am with reception to follow.
