Carolyn Elaine Meyer, 67, passed from this life on January 01, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Carolyn was born on October 12, 1952 to Richard and Alene Meyer in Denver, CO. She lived in Aurora, graduated from Aurora Central High School in 1970, and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with emphasis in Accounting. Her passion led her to explore the freedom and joy of her heart's desire with love of animals, mystic, and Spirits.
Carolyn retired after extensive careers at Johns-Manville, USWEST - transitioning to Broadband Communications, then Comcast during the corporate reorganization, and finally CH2MHill. Her interest in numbers and passion for helping others, led her to H&R Block for several years during tax season.
Carolyn loved to explore and travel to places to connect with the earth, the people, and the animals in various places. In Puerto Vallarta and outside of Kona, Hawaii, she discovered a variety of birds and loved watching the turtle eggs hatch. On her land in Walsenburg, there was always a family of eagles who appeared during her visits, prompting her to desire to retire on that spot, but health issues precluded that event. When she traveled for several weeks to Alaska; the people, the native culture, and the animals captured her heart and her passion, professing to return, one day.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister-in-law, Karen and her beloved furry companions, Elvis, Tessie, Toby, and other fur babies. Carolyn is survived by her brother, Richard, Sr., three nephews, Richard, Jr., James, and Grant, along with their families and many great nieces and nephews. Carolyn leaves behind her long-term companion, Dwayne Van Blaricon, joint parent of their dogs, and his mother and friend, Marilyn Van Blaricon.
To think of Carolyn, remember, "Recover the Power of your Authenticity, who you are when you are born, because, the wings of your soul will be supported by the ever-present breezes which are the breath of God. Carolyn, an old soul with a kindred spirit."
A private family service with internment will be held at the Byers, Colorado cemetery in the Spring, 2020. To share a memory of Carolyn or leave a special condolence message for her family, please visit the guestbook below.
