On Saturday, June 5, 2021, we lost our beloved wife, mother, sister, "Nana", and "Nana C".
Carolyn Myra Kreidler was born on January, 24, 1933 in Bethlehem, PA, the oldest child of Reverend Earl Kreidler and Edith Kreidler. In 1950, she graduated from Slatington High School in Slatington, PA and in 1954 she graduated from Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA with a chemistry degree. On November 28, 1953 she married Ronald Caleb Mackes and on November 28, 2021 they celebrated their 67th anniversary.
She worked as a medical technologist on and off through her adult life but her true priority was loving and caring for her family and friends. Carolyn loved God and was very active at Burns Memorial UMC for over 30 years. She always had a kind word or a listening ear to offer people. Traveling brought Carolyn much joy which was shared with her husband, her children, and other family members. Trips to Ocean City, NJ with her family were a very special part of her life. Carolyn and Ron also went on many trips with her brother Lee and his wife Barbara, one of her closest friends. For years, when not traveling together, Carolyn and Barb would send each other cassette tape recordings about their lives.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Ron, two of her three children (Kurt and Holly), her four grandchildren (Jessica, Melanie, Colin, and Evan), her 8 great-grandchildren (Dajuan, Khalid, Jakai, Caleb, Grace, Malachi, Aiden, and Maddie), her brother Lee, and her sister Brenda, as well as the spouses of her children and grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly. Sadly, her youngest son Ross passed away less than two months before her on April 20, 2021 but she has now joined him in Heaven. She loved well and was well loved. We were blessed to have her for 88 years.
Donations in memory of Carolyn can be made to Burns Memorial UMC, 1095 Newark Street, Aurora, CO 80010 or to the Ocean City Tabernacle, 550 Wesley Avenue, Ocean City, NJ 08226.
