Carolyn (Katie) Kathleen Roberts, 81, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023, in Aurora, Colorado. She was born on December 21, 1941, in Keenesburg, Colorado, to the late Carroll K. and Virginia B. Leonard (Wilson). Katie was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sisters JoAnn Zarbock (and husband Allen, daughter Patty Ann and son Allen Jr.) and Delores Klein (Hank), and brothers Kenneth Leonard and Gene Leonard.
Carolyn Kathleen, also known as Katie, was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She adored her family, especially her husband Richard H. Roberts, whom she cherished throughout their many years of marriage. Katie is survived by her sister Anna Mae Norman (Merl), daughters Karen Jean Springer and Diane Lynn Moore, grandchildren Benjamin Springer (Michelle), Joshua Springer (Sonja), Kayla Bobye (Ash), Austin Moore (Lexi), and great-grandchildren Ezekiel, Malachai, Hope, Seth, Solomon, Catalina, Annabelle, and Brylee.
In her youth, Katie attended Loomis Primary School in Loomis, Nebraska, and later graduated from Fort Morgan High School in Fort Morgan, Colorado. She embarked on a fulfilling career, beginning as a Nurses Aide at Eben Ezer Hospital in Brush, Colorado, during high school. Katie then worked as a Nurses Aide at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado, before transitioning to Keypunch at Rocky Mountain Bankcard Co. in Denver. She also gained experience in office work at various Insurance and Accounting companies. Later in life, Katie became a Certified Nurses Aide with the Visiting Nurse Association in Denver, Colorado.
Katie had a deep faith and was an active member of Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aurora, Colorado. She found solace and community in her place of worship.
In her free time, Katie enjoyed expressing her creativity through crafts, sewing, and rag rug making. She also loved traveling in an RV, exploring new places and creating lasting memories with her loved ones. Katie's last dog, Princess, held a special place in her heart.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service for Katie at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church located at 17700 E. Iliff Ave., Aurora, Colorado. The service will be held to celebrate Katie's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where Katie found spiritual guidance and support.
