Carolynn J. Fox February 2, 1929 – December 4, 2023 Carolynn Joy Fox, 94, passed away peacefully at her home in Lakewood, Colorado with family at her side. She was born on February 2, 1929, to mother, Mary Nauman (Wigent) and father, Vernon Nauman, in Douglas, Wyoming. Carolynn graduated from Douglas High School and received a scholarship to attend the University of Denver to study nursing. It was at DU and Highlands United Methodist Church where she met the love of her life, Donald V. Fox. They married in Douglas, WY on August 29, 1947 and enjoyed over 57 years together, raising seven children in the Denver area. Carolynn lived her life motivated with a passion for helping others. Her "How can I help you?" legacy motto exemplified her kind, nurturing love and selfless dedication to her cherished family, friends and those in need. She loved reading and writing poetry, sewing, quilting, cooking, gardening, hosting family and friends at the "Fox Hotel" and traveling with her family throughout the country. As a 4-H leader, she taught homemaking skills in several clubs as her 6 daughters were growing up. Don and Carolynn were founding members of the Green Mountain United Methodist Church. She devoted many years as a church historian, singing in the choir, and catering events to raise funds for a new church kitchen and other projects. Carol's life was well-lived, she sought kindness, truth and beauty, and inspired others to continue her legacy. Carolynn is survived by her children Anne (Don) Fleming, Joyce (Paul) Johanson, Don (Pam) Fox, Barbara (Dan) Stover, Susan (Rick) Walter, Patricia (Ken) Laubhan, and Kristin Fox; grandmother of sixteen, great grandmother of twenty, and great-great grandmother of 3 ½. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don Fox, brother, David Nauman, and sister, Miriam Fawcett. A memorial service will be held February 3, 2024, at Green Mountain United Methodist Church in Lakewood, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her memory to the Green Mountain United Methodist Church, 12755 W Cedar Dr., Lakewood, CO 80228.
